Updated continuously, no dates promised

Where leaf is, and where it's going.

We would rather tell you plainly what is finished than publish a wish list. Everything below is in one of three states: built and working, actively being built, or planned and specified but not yet started. We do not attach dates to unreleased work, because a date we cannot keep is worse than no date at all.

Built and working

The core shop

The day-to-day operation of a repair shop runs end to end today. This is the part we refuse to ship half-finished, and it is the reason the rest of the list waits its turn.

  • Repair orders on a stage board, with work stages a shop defines for itself
  • Customers, vehicles, VIN and plate capture, and complete vehicle history
  • Estimates, work authorization, and signature capture on the device
  • Digital check sheets for inspections, attached to the ticket
  • Invoicing and checkout with cash, check, card, Tap to Pay on iPhone, fleet accounts, and any custom tender a shop takes
  • Discounts, coupons, tax breakdown, and printed or emailed work orders and invoices
  • Inventory: parts, categories, suppliers, purchase orders, receiving, low stock and reorder, and receipt scanning
  • Employees: roles, granular permissions, time clock, time cards, shifts, commissions, and payroll
  • Day close with tender reconciliation, day-close reports, shop metrics and statistics
  • Audit log covering tickets, money, the register, deletions, and documents
  • Global search across customers, vehicles, tickets, parts, and people
  • Service reminder drafting, sent from the shop's own email client
  • Vehicle specification lookup with shop-submitted corrections
  • Franchise portal for brand rollups and shop rosters
  • Sync across a shop's own registers through the shop's private iCloud database
In build

Brand live sync

Franchised brands need a franchisor to see their network as it happens, without turning every shop's iPad into a mirror of the whole brand and without handing the franchisor a customer book that is not theirs. We are building that as a shop-owned data zone shared upward, so a shop keeps ownership of its own records.

  • Small, live shop-level figures a franchisor can watch on an iPad, carrying no customer or employee personal data
  • Full detail fetched only when a reader deliberately opens a specific shop, invoice, or customer, never mirrored continuously
  • Multi-shop owners scoped to their own locations and nothing else
  • Change of ownership handled as a permission-gated transfer that keeps the shop number and moves history to the new owner's own Apple account
Planned

Bringing your existing book with you

A shop switching to leaf arrives with thousands of customers already on file, almost always in Mitchell 1 or Tekmetric. Nobody is retyping that, so import has to be solid before the first shop goes live.

  • Customer and vehicle import from Mitchell 1 and Tekmetric exports
  • A column mapping step with a preview of real rows rather than a blind file picker
  • Duplicate matching on phone, then email, then name and plate, so running the same file twice does not double the book
  • Prior service history brought in as read-only records that inform service intervals without ever reprinting as a leaf invoice
Planned

Pilot shops and beta

A shop floor finds things no test suite will. Before general release, leaf goes to a small group of working shops through TestFlight, and their day decides what changes.

  • A limited TestFlight round with independent shops and one brand network
  • Onboarding built around a real shop's first week, not a demo
  • In-app help and reference finished to the same standard as the features
Planned

Release on the App Store

leaf ships for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Pricing will be published here before release and billed through Apple, so a shop can cancel from its own device without calling anybody.

On the horizon

After release

Work we intend to do, listed here so it is on the record rather than promised for a particular version.

  • A deeper vehicle specification database, growing from corroborated shop corrections
  • Wider reporting for owners running more than one location
  • Accounting export in the formats shops actually hand their bookkeeper
  • Continued accessibility and localization work
A standing commitment

Nothing on this page is a contractual promise, and priorities can move when a shop shows us something that matters more. What will not move is the rule that a feature is not released until it works end to end.
